Native Speaker is the stage name and original music project of New Jersey/New York based singer-songwriter and musician Daniel Sing.

Native Speaker performs melodic indie acoustic and folk-rock music, and is sometimes accompanied by a rotating number of indie musicians and collaborators during live performances.

Though a musician and singer, he doesn’t make a show of things: that’s the songs’ job. This buoyant troubadour has done this all quietly, intentionally, still looking for the next answer or dog-eared chapter each song holds.

In 2011, Native Speaker started performing original music in front of live audiences, and has had the honor of gracing the stages of numerous wonderful NYC area venues such as The Bitter End, Maxwell’s Tavern, Northern Soul, Path Cafe, Hilltop Tavern, Sidewalk Cafe, 10th Street Live, Crossroads, and countless breweries and coffeehouses.

Since 2012, Native Speaker has also taken his act underground and onto the street, filling the NYC subway system, city parks, and local thoroughfares with a blend of his original songs and timeless classic covers as a busker. On many nights you can find him bringing smiles to commuters’ faces at some of NYC’s most famous stops, including Times Square, Columbus Circle, Washington Square Park, Union Square, Hoboken Waterfront, and more.
